We are pleased to invite you to the supplier launch of the Fair Price Application (Fair Price app) and the introduction of the Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) framework in Bulgaria.
 
A seminar for: Top management of textile factories from Bulgaria, who are producing for brands of Fair Wear Foundation or for brand members of other international initiatives like the German Partnership on Sustainable Textiles; Amfori; Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), or who are members of the Bulgarian Association for Textile, Apparel and Leather (BATOK).

The aim of the seminar is to provide a basic introduction to the Human Rights Diligence framework (HRDD), including information on the already mandatory German supply chain law, as well as to offer a practical introduction to the Fair Price app developed by Fair Wear. You do not need to prepare anything in advance. There will be room for questions. 

Background:  Cost price negotiation pressures can often result in a crude bargaining approach whereby comprehensive and proper costing of the manufacturing cost is disregarded in the interest of procuring an order. With like-minded multi-stakeholder initiatives, Fair Wear works with brands and factories to move them away from this crude bargaining approach.

Fair Wear wants to realise a world where the garment industry supports workers in realising their rights to safe, dignified, properly paid employment, the ‘new normal’. As part of the OECD Human Rights Due Diligence framework, due diligence on wages is at the core of reaching this goal. As the first step towards due diligence on wages, actual knowledge of the labour costs of garments is critical. The Fair Price app is a practical tool to support brands and factories in costing for human rights due diligence.

What is the Fair Price application?

Fair Price is a tool that facilitates fact-based costing and shared responsibility between buyers and suppliers to ensure prices sufficiently cover all labour expenses, including when wages are raised. Fair Price helps factories to carefully calculate the labour costs for a product style based on current wage (e.g. current legal minimum wage) and/or projected higher ‘target wage’ levels such as future legal minimum wage, CBA wage, or living wage, which could then be used as input for negotiations with a brand. In relation to this, and while we encourage transparency in costing and pricing, it always remains the prerogative of the factories to decide what information to share and with which customer. Our aim with introducing this tool is to change buying practices in the industry so that the actual cost of production, including labour costs, can be satisfactorily covered in the cost-price negotiations with the buyers.

We are organising this seminar in partnership with the Bulgarian Association for Textile, Apparel, and Leather (BATOK), Bulgarian Institute for Labour and Social Policy (BILSP) and International Fair Plovdiv during the TEXTAILOR EXPO 2022.

We expect to explore the opportunities for adoption and consistent use of the Fair Price app, enabling factories to properly include costs for (mandatory) human rights due diligence in their prices, and eventually leading to the payment of fairer, higher wages for workers. We postponed the deadline for submitting applications without having to pay a 20% deposit in advance. This fact will not affect the reservation and the choice of the exhibition space in Hall P, where we plan to place exhibits of exhibitors at both exhibitions. The joint implementation in Chamber P in February proved to be very successful, so we will continue with the same concept in August. In addition, here we are preparing a non-traditional version of the accompanying program.

The second edition of the Textile and Fashion Expo started off very successfully. Hundreds of visitors viewed the TexTailor Expo 2019 on November 7, when the business forum opened. It attracts professionals and amateurs because it shows a complete panorama of the textile and fashion industries.

Professionals from both industries can see innovative equipment, materials, accessories and services. Logistics companies and furniture companies are introduced for the first time.

The TexTailor Expo 2019 is more diverse than its debut last year and has increased the number of visitors. They were impressed by the high quality of the products offered by manufacturers and traders, as well as by the modern technology.

Fans of fashion can see new collections on the stands during the second day of the show - November 8.
The exhibition continues on November 9 with many events from the accompanying program.

Avant-garde trends in clothing will be shown at the fashion shows at TexTailor Expo 2019, which will be held November 7-9 at the International Fair Plovdiv. The fair will also launch the Young Designers Competition, which will promote new talents and trademarks in the field of fashion.

Anna Manukyan's SWAP collection is all-seasons and unisex. The idea is to remove the season and gender boundaries so that the clothes can be worn as long as possible and by more people, sharing between brother and sister, partners and friends. Clothes are easily transformed with the help of buttons, zippers and ropes to adapt to more types of shapes.

Iviyana Zasheva's Urban Beat collection is inspired by music and its influence on the way she dresses. In the center is a new trend that comes from South Korea, combining hip-hop, rap, pop and is becoming increasingly popular in the world.

Along with the experimental projects of the two students from New Bulgarian University, graduates of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv will show their designs inspired by the idea of ​​the space age and made of neoprene, PVC, reflective materials, metallic luster accessories. Graduates of Varna Free University have made collections on the topics "Picturesque abstractions", "New denim. Reincarnation "and" Links. "

Visitors will also see haute couture from Bulgaria. A provocative collection of boutique women's dresses and men's suits, called "Moonlight," will be the surprise by Banderol Fashion House. The women's series uses lace and ornaments, French tulle, natural marabou feathers, pearls and crystals, while the men's collection exudes strength and independence.

Paulina Tsvetanova's art-fashion lable from Berlin, will also be presented. The emphasis is on the extremely emotional concepts and personality of the customers.

The fashion shows can be seen on November 8 from 3.30 pm to 5 pm in the Exhibition Hall 13 of the Plovdiv International Fair, where TexTailor Expo 2019 will be held.

The Expo will also launch a competition for young designers - students and stylists up to 35 years old. They will present their ideas in the categories: "High fashion", "Pret-a-porter", "Apparel of organic materials", "T-shirt design" and "Print design". The winners will be announced as part of the third edition of the Textile and Fashion Exhibition, which will take place in 2020.

In addition to the fashion part, TexTailor Expo 2019 has an industrial one. It presents companies offering technology, materials, services for the textile and fashion industries. These include ten large companies from China.

The exhibition can be seen every day from 10 am to 5 pm. The ticket costs BGN 5 and for students and pensioners - BGN 3. Professionals are entitled to free access after online registration.

Paulina Tsvetanova, Bulgarian artist, who works as a fashion designer in Berlin, will share her experience during TexTailor Expo 2019. Her presentation "Explore and Collect Serendipity. Sustainability in Fashion " is part of the accompanying program of the Business Forum. Tsvetanova will speak about how she opened her own shop for contemporary art, design and vintage fashion, and later a gallery in the German capital. She will share, which according to her are the most important principles for success.

There is a great interest in the designer workshop of Ivan Donev "Creaative Lab". He is haute-couture fashion designer, works in Italy and already has worldwide fame in the fashion circles. The stylist will present a contest for young designers, which will be launched at TexTailor Expo 2019. Workshop participants will see presentations and demonstrations related to the various stages of creating fashion collections - from the selection of fabrics through 3D modeling and production of clothing. The theoretical part of Ivan Donev's designer workshop is on November 7, and the practical part is the next day.

The presentation of Fashion Trends AW 2020/21 by Assistant Professor Kristina Savova from New Bulgarian University will be on November 9th. Fashion trends will also be revealed during the November 8 fashion shows.

The TexTailor Expo 2019 program also includes business-oriented events. During the seminar "Organization of production and optimization of personnel costs in the clothing industry" will be discussed topics related to the state of the economy and the market, as well as ways to achieving higher business results. The speaker is Slavey Shterev, a specialist in the organization of sewing production.

The Textra project will be presented on November 9th. Its aim is to promote the transfer of research and innovation in the textile sector, as well as to increase the efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises in the industry. On the same day is the presentation "Brand Positioning - Mission Required" by Chief Assistant Dr. Stefania Temelkova from New Bulgarian University, which will be focused on the techniques for establishing and promoting a brand.

Young entrepreneurs and designers will showcase their businesses and projects in the startup area. In this way, they will be able to find partners for their endeavors, while the already established companies will be able to find among them professionals with a new view at fashion.

Fashion fans will see new visions, experimental and classic collections of ready-made garments. Professionals will be introduced to the latest generation of equipment and services. Both in the design and technological part of the exhibition stands out the green line imposed by the ambition to protect the environment and the lifestyle choices.

A series of fashion shows will present the creative decisions of prominent and rising designers. An unusual look distinguishes the projects of graduates of specialized secondary and higher schools, which are also among the participants. "TexTailorExpo 2018" raises the curtain to the fashion of the future. Start-up zone is full of new brands and projects of young artists and entrepreneurs. The design space is designed for ideas inspired by the ideas of the style of tomorrow.

Seminars will familiarize professionals with the colors and silhouettes of the autumn-winter season 2019/2020 and the methods for forecasting fashion lines and markets. At the International Conference "Trends and Innovations in the Textile and Fashion Industry", 15 papers focusing on the technological as well as the aesthetic side of fashion will be presented.

Smart solutions that transform this industry will be demonstrated at the show. Bulgarian companies offer robotic machines and software programs, equipment and consumables for digital printing on fabrics. Among the novelties is the first Bulgarian digital printer on cotton, linen and silk with water-based inks. These innovations connect fashion and advertising.

The exhibits feature a wide variety of fabrics, colors and designs, made with the most modern methods and suitable for different types of clothing. They are offered by companies from Bulgaria, Poland, Spain, Greece. Turkey's foreign participation, one of the European leaders in the industry, is the strongest. The biggest factories for fabrics, knitwear, yarns, paints and accessories come from.

Clothing boosting positive mood, made of healthy fabrics, will be shown at "TexTailor Expo 2018", which will be held from 8th to 10th November at the Plovdiv International Fair. Kalina Stoyanova’s collection “Cultural Layers” is created especially  for the exhibition and the visitors will be able to follow the process of creating elegant dresses and coats. Inspiration from nature, unusual constructs and premium fabrics distinguish these clothes.

In the "Metamorphoses" collection of Iskra Petrova an innovative textile technology is used - a textile foil rack and a thermal transfer printing on velvet. The designer has won awards from world competitions in Los Angeles and Beijing, and her internationally recognized collections can be seen on the stand. These clothing emphasizes personality, luxury and comfort.

Autumn-winter vision for modern urban woman offers Hristina Toneva in her collection "unAltred", inspired by bio trends in lifestyle. The buttons are not made of plastic but the natural crystal sapphire. Ancient techniques and tea dyeing are used to keep connection with nature.

The start-up zone is dedicated to the works of young designers. Among them is Tsvetina Valentinova, who has developed a line of outerwear called "Polichromorphos". It combines two themes: "Biophilia" - a love for life and nature, a quest for creation, and "Culture". The patterns are designed for ladies who love bold experiments.

Students from four universities will show their creativity and new visions about fashion in a project review that will take place on 9th November. The provocative collection "Autumn-Winter 2019/2020" of the designer Plamena Dineva will be shown too.

Along with experimental fashion, the latest offers of well-established Bulgarian manufacturers will be presented. Among them is a company whose models wear many of our singers, TV presenters, models and other popular figures. Under the slogan "Free Spirit" are developed the products of another famous company, which puts combinations of machine knitting with appropriate stylish shoes, bags and accessories.

More fashion products can be seen on the stands of the participants and in the special Design Space. Along with the fashion reviews, the exhibition will present machines, materials, fabrics, knitwear, accessories and services to realize creative ideas. Thus, TexTailor Expo 2018 covers all the important aspects of the fashion industry.

"TexTailorExpo" 2018 has triggered an international interest. For the first edition of the exhibition, which will be held from 8th to 10th November 2018 at the International Fair Plovdiv producers and wholesalers from Turkey, Poland, Romania, Spain and Germany have registered as exhibitors. Experts and business delegations from Austria, Poland, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Lithuania and other countries will come as visitors to look for partners.

There are many orders for CMT production at the moment, but it is disadvantageous for manufacturers, who are forced to raise wages because of labor shortages. Only last year's salary growth is 15%, it raises costs without raising revenue and reduces profits. Businesses can not compensate for this decline as the lack of staff stops them from accepting new orders.

Workers' shortage is already critical, experts say. In their view, the goal is to create a product with high added value - ready-made clothing to maintain profitability and avoid collapse of the industry. TexTailorExpo 2018 will offer effective solutions in this direction with Sara Allwood's Workshops, Start-up Zone, Designer Space, and Fashion Shows.

The Forum will bring together companies from the Balkan Peninsula working in the Textile, Clothing and Leather Industry. Business delegations from Austria and Lithuania will visit the first international edition of TexTailorExpo 2018 at the Plovdiv International Fair, which will be held from 8 to 10 November 2018. Delegations from other European countries looking for native manufacturers of ready-made garments are also invited. The exhibition is devoted to the textile, clothing and leather industries and aims to present the industry mainly from the countries of the Balkan Peninsula and with the participation of exhibitors, visitors and business delegations from Europe. The forum is under the auspices of the Minister of Economy and is organized in partnership with the Branch Organization for Textile and Clothing (BOTO).

All aspects of the industry - from manufacturers and importers of machines, equipment, software and services for the production of textiles, knitwear, apparel and leather goods to finished goods and fashion - will be presented in the three exhibition days. Within the framework of TexTailorEXpo 2018, an industry conference, fashion shows and seminars will be held. There is also a start-up area for young designers with innovations in the field.

The exhibition will bring together the magic of fashion and technology to showcase the modern look of an industry that has over 130 years of history in Bulgaria. After years of downturns and shocks today, this industry has a leading position in the Bulgarian economy and is among the first in the volume of exports, reaching more than 2 billion euros a year. Participation in the exhibition was confirmed by Bulgarian companies and companies from Turkey, which produce the final product, materials and consumables for the tailoring industry. Participants from Macedonia, Serbia, Romania and other Balkan countries are also expected.
The accompanying program includes clothing reviews from renowned manufacturers, young designers, and graduates from specialized secondary and tertiary schools.

The international participation of exhibitors and visitors makes the Expo more attractive. The partnership with the educational sector in the field, makes it more beneficial.

International participation: The Bulgarian apparel manufacturers will have easy access to suppliers of machines, materials and services not only from Bulgaria, but also they will get acquainted with the proposals of over 40 Turkish companies presenting fabrics, accessories and equipment for clothing industry. We are actively working to attract companies from Macedonia, Serbia, Romania and other European countries.

Visitors from abroad interested in ordering private lable garments: The exhibition provokes interest from European companies looking for suppliers of ready-made apparel. At present, there is an interest expressed by representatives of Austria and Lithuania for organizing business delegations from companies looking for suppliеrs. 

Partnership with the educational sector: Given the labor-related problem of the industry with the qualification and recruitment, TexTailorExpo has successfully attracted representatives of the professional and tertiary education in the sector to facilitate the contact of the learners with the business. Schools from NAUM (National Association of Fashion Schools), Design Department of NBU and Applied Arts Department of the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts Plovdiv confirmed their active participation in the forum. Vocational schools will present themselves at their booths in the fair as well as present models of their alumni in fashion shows during the event. Two Bulgarian companies - one apparel producer and one company offering equipment and software for the sewing industry have confirmed their participation.
Negotiations are underway with ICF Fairs&Org from Turkey for buying 400 м2 area for Turkish companies, producers of materials and accessories for the clothing industry. This show that there is interest towards this exhibition not only in Bulgaria, but also in the neighboring countries and sets a good start.

On 29 March 2018 in the Pressclub Hall of the Plovdiv International Fair will be organised a press conference related to the opening of the new exhibition TexTailorExpo 2018.

The event is organised by "Plovdiv International Fair " JSC and "Spex" Ltd. This Press Conference aims to present the new initiative in front of the media and business, and also to draw attention of the public to the importance of the industry.

It should be noted that the textile and garment industry in Bulgaria provides work for more than 110 000 people, which provides the opportunity for social and industry representativeness. The renewed tradition of the textile exhibitions will be a useful initiative, which will support the producers in the marketing of their products but this will also benefit the economy of the country.

At 12 am in the Restaurant  "Fontana" at the premises of the International Fair Plovdiv will be organised a networking cocktail.

TexTailorExpo: November 08-10 2018

The first edition of the International Specialised Exhibition for textile machinery and products "TexTailorExpo 2018" will be held from 8 to 10 November 2018.

It is a joint project of SPEX Ltd. and The International Fair Plovdiv AD.

TexTailorExpo 2018 is a business-to-business oriented exhibition for Bulgaria and the region, which aims to meet the Bulgarian and international producers of clothing, shoes, fabrics, accessories, machinery and equipment with the partners from the world market and to create a business environment for generation of new contacts or to launch a new collaboration.

On the "TexTailorExpo 2018" you can find out new collections for women and men, textiles, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Within three days, from 8 to 10 November, Bulgarian and foreign companies will be presented with their stands, in the following streams:
